I have heard it refered to as the, exploding device or, "Bomb" I assume these are positive descriptions and make the said product worthy of investigation. I shall endevour to f**k around with it at my earliest convinience.

JH, what source was the CompressorBank doing such a great job on compared to the R-comp? (Vocals, drums, or whole mixes, etc).

C-bank seems to sound great on everything. It's very versatile. It has a good sounding saturation effect so it makes drum sound fat. It also has a side chain eq that is great for vocals. Put it across the stereo mix to add some harmonic distortion to your mix.

Did you or anyone compare it with Ren.Compr, Focusrite and Drawmer?

I find it superior to Rcomp and focusrite in every way...more flexible, more stable, more dsp-efficient, and just plain cooler.

I tried the trial download, but couldn't find any presets in it. Anything I did wrong?

Did you just tweak around to find the great sounds...or mostly presets?

The filterbank is my fave EQ for TDM, so I have great expectations from that company's products.

I also look forward to the Bombfactory 1176 and LA2A.

Oli P,

It was a while ago that I downloaded the C-Bank Demo, but yes there are presets to work with. I think you have to create a folder in DAE Plug-ins called << Compressor<space>Bank >> then drag the Presets from the Demo folder into it. You only have a few presets to work with, but they're great. I've purchased both FilterBank and CompressorBank. There are so many presets, you really don't need to tweak much. Very efficient use of DSP.

For those of you who are planning to buy Filterbank, do it directly from McDSP. DigitalRiver's On-line download is not encoded properly and will not open up with StuffitExpander 5.1.3. (It may be fixed by now). Although DigitalRiver's Tech Support was great, I never could get a good copy from them. I eventually called McDSP and talked to Colin McDowell himself. Not only was he very nice, but he actually e-mailed me a working copy of F-Bank. Kind of refreshing to find a company and an owner that cares.

If you do order on-line, McDSP actually sends you HardCopy and Auth disks.

I love these two plug-ins and I don't have to worry about Waves crashing my machine with conflicts.

Yes to all the above (or below, as may be the case). Both these plugs rock my world. Toss in the DuY gems (DaDTape & Valve, DuYShape, MAX, etc.) and you've got one kicking rig (24-bit truncation at the TDM bus notwithstanding...).
