I have just done a complete re-install of Pro Tools First v12.3.1 (after following the guidelines for fully deleting a previous install and all the preferences etc.). However, once the First EQ Dynamics Bundle is re-installed (which I purchased!), only 2 of the 5 plug-ins show up. (BF-76 and Graphic EQ show up - Maxim, ChannelStrip and Gray Compressor do not.)

Also, when I load up my current saved Project, I get the following error message:
"One or more tracks contain plug-ins don't exist in your plugin-in folder.
Maxim (2)"

Nevertheless, I can confirm that the plug-in flies are in fact present in the '/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins' directory:

Are there any updates in your Avid Application Manager for those plugins?

jaywalker

No - according to Avid Application Manager, everything is up-to-date:
Pro Tools First - 12.3.1.705 = current
Avid Application Manager - 2.4.5.6625 = current
Avid Cloud Client Services - 1.3.0.4425 = current
First EQ Dynamics Bundle - 12.0.0.615 = current

Nobody? No similar experiences? No ideas?
Maybe I need to try installing on a completely separate machine to see if the issue disappears or follows my account...

Please confirm that you trashed the "Pro Tools First" folder from:/Users/name/Library/Preferences/Avid/
Possibly permissions related. Repair Permissions, compare permissions on plugins that are working vs not as well as on the Plug-Ins folder:/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio
Next... try a new User Profile.

Let us know if that doesn't help.

Yes, I can confirm deleted I the "/Users/name/Library/Preferences/Avid/" folder.
And I have checked permissions - note all the files above are "drwxrwxrwx" so same permissions.
I tried on a completely new Mac today and had EXACTLY the same problem - i.e. the only common thing was my account - which makes me wonder if it is somehow account related?

Next i will try a clean Windows Machine...

OK - today I tried a fresh install on a completely clean Windows 10 Pro x64 PC. Guess what - EXACTLY the same problem! (BF-76 and Graphic EQ plug-ins show up - Maxim, ChannelStrip and Gray Compressor do not.)
So I can only conclude that this issue is nothing to do with the Pro Tools First install code - unless it is a generic cross-platform problem with either Pro Tools First 12.3.1 install code or the First EQ Dynamics Bundle 12.0.0.615 install code.

In reality it is more likely to be a problem specific to my AVID account (related to the First EQ Dynamics Bundle license) or a remote chance its even something to do with the iLok activation? I could try setting up a new account, but then I would have to pay for the First EQ Dynamics Bundle again - which I'm obviously not very keen to do. (Is it even available still? Could that be part of the problem?)

At any rate, this is a very weird issue. Any suggestions as to how I might resolve this?

Do you see in errors when you log in to your Avid account?
https://www.avid.com/US/account/orientation

At one point, updating your billing address fixed some issues, but I'm not sure if this is related. Check your account, it's worth a shot.

Ok -I tried updating my billing address, but no luck. And no, there are no errors when I log into my Avid account.

I'm a bit stumped to know what to try next - feels like I have done pretty much all I can do to figure it out. Might just need to treat the current First Dynamics Bundle subscription as a write off...

Was there ever a fix for this? I'm having the same problem but with Pro Tools First not recognizing Melodyne Essentials 4.

I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and never had any issues with Melodyne Essentials until the recent update to Essentials 4 came out. Now Pro Tools is saying:
"Missing aax plug-ins
One or more tracks contains plug-ins that don't exist in you plug-in folder.
Melodyne (5)"

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Shuddle and Welcome to the Community

Regarding missing plugins you can only use plugins that has been bought via the Avid Marketplace so Melodyne for example won't work in PT|First so in order to use your favve plugins you need the full version of PT.

Yes but if the plugins were indeed purchased through the Avid store, part of say the Avid Complete Plugin bundle or other bundle, they should work.

Yes thats right. I just read his post as he had Melodyne before and trying to use the new version in PT First. Lets see what he comes back with :-)

So Shuddle, here are a few steps that another member did after I helped him with a similar issue with Melodyne 4 Studio and he got a -7054 error but that was on a Mac so it might behave differently than a PC.

Have you tried to reinstall Melodyne?
Also trash preferences and databases and make 100% sure you have the latest ilok license manager installed.

These three steps worked for another member tonight and I would start with the steps like this:

Reinstall Melodyne
Trash Preferences and databases
Download and install the latest ilok license manager from www.ilok.com

Let us know how that works out and don't forget to restart the computer after each step. People forget that and whenthey restart the next day things works again ;)

Good Luck

Thanks Christopher! I've already tried reinstalling Melodyne and saved it to multiple different folders as I'm not sure which "plug-in" folder Pro Tools is trying to pull from.

I read somewhere about trashing preferences but I do not know how to do this. Any chance you have some quick steps for completing that? In the meantime, I'll check to see if I have the latest version of iLok manager.

Thanks again!

Scroll down for PC steps on that page if you have a Windows Computer.

I have a Pro Tools folder (which is empty) and a Pro Tools First folder (which has a bunch of stuff). Do I need to delete both?

I would delete both as deleting an empty folder wont make much difference.

Also you asked where melodyne puts the AAX plugin, It will place it in the correct folder so you dont need to move anything anywhere. Just let the installer put it where it is supposed to be as changing stuff around often makes a mess.

And Shuddle I was just rereading this thread. Please confirm you actually purchased this plugin from the Avid Plugin Store... nowhere else. Even if it runs in Pro Tools 10, if you did not purchase it through the store it will not work with First... as designed.

Thank you both. To confirm Darryl, I did initially purchase Melodyne through the Avid store and I've had no problems until the update for Melodyne Essentials came out.

I have completed all of the steps as follows:
-Updated iLok Manager
-Deleted Pro Tools Preferences (both folders)
-Uninstalled Melodyne and reinstalled it to the default location that the computer decides.

Still no luck in Pro Tools First. I may just have to take advantage of the Cyber Monday deal and switch to the full PT version. I only hope that the plug-in will work after purchasing the full version.

Thanks again for all of your help!

So can you confirm again that the Melodyne .aaxplugin file shows up in

/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins

Make sure you have the latest iLok manager and look at Pro Tools First in ILM and confirm that the name/account show there is correct and the same as the one you used to purchase the plugins (I'm not sure this is exaclty needed, but I'd have a answer ready for Avid in case it is).

I can't remember if Pro Tools First has a reset error warnings button but if it's like full Pro Tools then under Preferences there is a button to reset error messages. Just do that and restart PTF to see if there are any error messages being missed.

It would be great to get jeffro's or Avid Support's help in this since it sounds like Avid's licensing for First might be messing up here
