Somebody posted that Avid had released a new build of PT12 - can anyone comment on that?

Are they just going to do these version revs whenever they feel like it now with no announcements re: what's changed?

Avid did announce that it was moving away from major releases and toward versionless release. That will mean it will enable them to launch bug fixes/updates and or upgrades when they are ready, not when the marketing team wants them to be launched.

I think that is just marketing speak though. The marketing team needs the versionless releases to be able to market the subscription and support plans.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if we saw fewer fixes & updates a year... only released more regularly rather than in bulk lots.
