View Full Version : Pro Tools won't open

Bought the Fast Track Solo and Pro tools wont open because it needs to be registered on the iLok. Now iLok wont let me register because the ''server is unavailable''.
Hey Pro Tools developers. Why you make our lives so harsh with all this ''registration'' nonsense?

servers go down, that's life in the modern age
they're up now


if people didn't steal software there would be no need for licensing, but the cold hard reality is people do steal software (and other things)

Sorry for the hassle Andrew, and thanks Craig for jumping in to help.

I just signed into iLok License Manager and did a Synchronize on my iLok 2. Are you still having trouble?

Yes i do. Still says that the servers are unavailable.
I did the PACE Liecense Services Failure and the ''an Unreliable Internet Connection'' diagnostics and they were clear. Tried to do the proxy thing and i could not access that other software i needed to download.

what browser are you using
try clearing your resent history

Clearing browser history? How could that help in getting the servers online?

You might be viewing a cached page that was not available at the time of the cache. So clearing browser cache may or may not help, but worth a try.

I removed the cached images and files. Still servers down

Who is you internet service provider? What kind of internet service do you have (speed, bandwidth, etc...)

@ to Moderator. I have a Windows 7-64
@bradch00. My internet provider is Telekom. The speed is a bit below 15Mbps for downloads. I dont know what bandwidth and the etc are...

Craig gave the link for iLok License Manager in his previous post (http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?p=2239344).

You might also try installing that on another computer to try Activating your license to your iLok 2.

I thought it has to be somehow connected to the already installed on my pc Pro Tools :/

It has to be connected to the computer to run Pro Tools, but you can plug it into another internet connected computer with iLok License Manager installed to Activate and Deactivate licenses (some users do this if they want to keep their music computer off the internet).

One more question. If the computer on which the iLok will be registered is not 64 like mine but 32. Does it matter?

Can you clarify what you mean by "registered"?

Please check out the video at http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/faq/iLok-License-Manager-Overview and tell us specifically where it fails.

Screenshots could be helpful as well.
