I'm in Grid Mode and Bars and Beats.
Grid set to 1/4 Note.
TEMPO Resolution is set to 1/4 note.

When the transport is rolling, the click 'speaks' on the down beats of 1, 2, 3, 4.

Questionable problem: When changing the Tempo Resolution to:
1/8th note, the tempo slows down to 1/2 speed.
1/16th note, the tempo slows to down to 1/4 speed.
Half Note, the tempo speeds up 2x speed.
Whole, the tempo speeds up 4x speed.

As Mr. Spock would say, "this does not seem logical".

Is this correct? If so, would someone please clarify this logic to me?

thanks,

It does seem backwards until the difference between tempo resolution and click resolution is clarified. The Tempo Resolution that you are changing decides the note value of the bpm. At the standard 1/4 note and 120 bpm setting, it means that there are 120 1/4 notes per minute. At an 1/8th note and 120 bpm setting, it means that there are 120 1/8 notes per minute. So, to play 120 1/8th notes in one minute, the click would have play at half the speed that it would at 120 1/4 notes in one minute.

You might want to leave the Tempo Resolution at 1/4 note and instead change the Click Resolution (in the Meter Change dialog any time you change the meter). If you change the Click Resolution to 1/8th note, your Bars|Beats counter will remain unchanged, but the click will sound on 1/8th notes instead of 1/4 notes. However, this is just assuming that you are wanting to affect the click.
