Just getting feeling for what people out there are you as there sub mixes

i route all my tracks to their relevent sub mixes (an AUX) eg

Drums = Drums sub mix
Guitars = guitar Sub Mix
Bass = Bass sub mix
Vocals = Vox sub mix

im just not sure weather to use a mono one or stereo one for some.

for example bass guitars get routed to a sub mix which is mono as i dont pan the bass guitar

guitars go to a stereo sub mix as i pan the individual guitar tracks seperatly

but im not sure about vocals, main vocals i leave center backing vox i pan individually so do i use a stereo sub mix for vocals or mono :confused:

cheers

are the stems wet or dry?

if wet I would do stereo for all

if dry I would go stereo for anything with panning

Thanks for chiming in Craig:-) The tracks are dry feeding to aux's for reverbs delay etc.

Ive always used a stereo sub mix for the vocal one but the other week i put both the pan controls on the sub mix to the center which i found to make the vocals more direct and well more in the middle of the mix :D With the pan controls spread hard left and hard right it kind of sounds to me as if the vocals are spead to wide across the mix:confused:
