What is everyone moving to when 10.7 comes out? I read that it wonīt support rosetta anymore which means that client wonīt run on mac anymore.

All the alternatives that I looked at arenīt really equivalents be it SmartJog of fasp.

Any others that offer similar or at least the same features?

Frank.

I have the UB but itīs the last beta-version (http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=230995) that was never officially published. The Aspera-site is a bit misleading. You can set the drop-down menu to "Intel" but the download is the exact same version as the PPC option. Officially there is no way for a client to obtain the UB version unless you send him the beta manually. But then you would need to do that for every delivery which makes the convenience of DD a bit pointless. Iīm not even sure if spreading the beta would be legal. But since I was a beta-tester I do have it.

Aspera really let it die on the vine.

Could one not modify the delivery email template to link to the UB version of the client?

Something like....

"For Macs, download the client here" (link)
"For PCs, download the client here" (link)

They certainly did.

I wonder if Avid is restricted from developing a replacement? It certainly fits in with several of their asset and content management schemes to have something like this. I'm actually suprised that they haven't reintroduced something like this.
