PT9 Crashes on load and graphics are missing on Channel strip plug ins

did complete upgrade from 8 to PT9
on Macbook Pro. PT fails to load existing templates/tracks and when I build one from scratch graphics are missing from the inserts/plug ins.
Then it crashes when I load other tracks.
PT9 complete upgrade
macbook pro 10.6.5
2.53 core 2 duo
ran plug in updater and 003 driver from digi
uninstalled / reinstalled many times

anyone?

It sounds to me like outdated plugs..

Try this.. Hold the SHIFT key down when opening a project. That will make all plugs in that project inactive at opening.

Start re-activating the plugs one at a time and list every one that doesn't respond properly. Then go and manually update those plugs.

You should probably do that anyways for all of your plugs.

My guess is that that will fix things for you.... as long as your plugs are PT9 compatible.

Thanks Dan,
I tried that but still can't make it go.
When I try and load the PT demo it always hangs and crashes on the "Kick sub" track. every time.
I have re-installled my system and PT with all the updates.
It is safe to assume that people here are using 9 without too many issues?
I have been a user for many years and just can't figure this one out.
Anyone?

OK Dan,
here's the update since you were good enough to reply.
Digi got back to me with a fix.
The font issue was from duplicate fonts in the fontbook manager. I disabled the duplicates- Graphics returned to normal.

Then-
I made another user admin account for PT only. trashed my DAE prefs and
So far 9 is working.

Cool! Glad it's working... I keep learning stuff all of the time.. especially since I just switched to MAC a few weeks ago.. My fingers still get confused ;)
