Hi,
I just got PT 9, installed it on a Windows 7 64 Bit System and have some trouble now:

1. After starting PT9 I get a BSOD 0x00000124 ntoskrnl.exe within a few minutes.

2. If I try to open a session I get the message:
"COULD NOT COMPLETE THE OPEN SESSION... COMMAND BECAUSE PRO TOOLS COULD NOT SET SAMPLE RATE TO SPECIFIED VALUE.."
(session is set to 48kHz, same as the audio interface and the external master clock)
I managed to create a new empty session and safe it, but if I want to open it again later, I get the same message.

The System worked for 1 1/2 years without any problems as a Vienna Ensemble Slave. Basically it's a Tyan S5397 motherboard with 2 xeon e5420 CPUs, 3 HDs and 24 GB RAM (8 Sticks of PC2-6400 Kingston FB-DDR2 RAM: 4x2GB and 4x4GB). The audio card is a RME HDSP9652, newest drivers. All digital devices in the studio are clocked by an external word-clock generator (48 kHz).

Don't know if this helps, sandra won't recognize the motherboards 16 DIMM-slots!

Doesn't seem to see a lot of things... strange.

Do you know what graphics you are using? If you don't have a dedicated graphics card, an integrated graphics hub can be a show stopper for sure.

I'm controlling the PC via remotedesktopconnection from a Mac, but there is a graphics card installed: ATI Radeon HD4350.

Guess I solved the
"COULD NOT COMPLETE THE OPEN SESSION... COMMAND BECAUSE PRO TOOLS COULD NOT SET SAMPLE RATE TO SPECIFIED VALUE.."
issue: After switching the RME HDSP 9652 to internal clock the problem seems to be gone!
There may be a problem with the current RME drivers, I will report this to RME.

OK, I reinstalled Pro Tools 9 and changed RME HDSP9652 sync to internal and got no bluescreen since then. Got to check out if the bluescreen also depends on RME sync-settings tomorrow, as I finished work for today.
I also have to find out how to reliably sync PT9 to Logic timecode-wise (MMC/Midi-Clock), that's the way I want to use PT in this setup! Any recommendations for that topic are welcome:-)

best

In the meantime I moved my PT9 to the Mac, but I can report that the problem with the audio-card and the bluescreen was gone on windows 7 after switching to internal word before opening a PT session. As soon as the session is open you can switch back to external word and everything works fine. So anyone who has trouble with PT9 and the RME HDSP9652 or any other audio card should try that.
