Preamp Tubes

Can putting different tubes in a vocal preamp REALLY make a difference in the sound that comes out of it?

depends on a lot of things

design of the circuit- in some units it won't make a difference
condition of the old tubs- are they bad or of poor quality
quality of the new tubs

Well, I have a UA LA-610 with the stock tubes.

They are (3) 12ax7, (1) 6072, and (1) 6aq5.

What kinds of differences can different tubes make?

it has more to do w/ the manufacture that the model

NOS US tubes verses cheap low quality ones

if the 610 is not noisy then I don't think you'll gain much
