mixing techniqe

is there any differnce when mixing hiphop as far as the vocals go i just got waves and the plugins sound nice just need to know if i should take a diifferent approach to mixing this genere evey post that i read it's talking about rock and hiphop post availible on duc

Slap in a few CD's of similar stuff and let your ears be your guide. Any thing else is just "coloring by numbers". Not trying to sound trite here. Just remember that mixing music is an art first and there really is no way to instruct. If you are working with a client, ask them to bring you some CD's that they really like. That will give you more direction than anything written here(IMHO).
