Is there anyway to quickly recorded multitrack midi into pro tools? I'm working with a sequencer with 12 tracks that i want to record all at once into pro tools. Cubase has a function called "dissolve midi" which allow you to record everything to one track, then you dissolve the midi and each midi track splits out to it's own track. I'm pretty sure that there isn't an equivilent function in pro tools but is there a way to record all the midi to one track then easily copy and paste each set of midi data to its own track?

Thanks in advance.

The quickest way would be if your other sequencer could save a standard midi file. Then you could just import that into PT.

If not, why not record each channel of MIDI to separate tracks on the first pass? Is your other sequencer (might help if you told us which one) sending each track on a separate MIDI channel?

Won't your sequencer allow you to assign each track to a different MIDI channel?
