View Full Version : Sliced audio effect

Has any one tried this out and been satisfied with the result? I'm refering to selecting a region or part of it and deleting intermitent parts of it.

Please share how you did this, grid mode?, what resolution for slicing was used?, etc.

I do it all the time for a precise tremolo effect.

I put the grid in 16ths, and slice every other 16th.

Or change the pencil tool to a square wave and draw it in.

I love doing this! I like doing it in grid mode, but that's just me.

On one song I had two electric guitars, one panned hard left and the other hard right. I started cutting up both tracks in sequence, then after a couple of measures cutting the left track in the opposite of the right. It's hard to explain, but where one track 16th note is deleted for the guitar on the left, I left the audio on the guitar on the right, and visa versa. This gives it an effect of going back and forth from side to side.

I hope this makes sense, it's a cool effect if used right.

Or change the pencil tool to a square wave and draw it in.

that's how I do it. easier to change than a bunch of sliced regions.
