Hello
I recently became a user of Digi 002R. Could someone please tell me how to hear playback sound from my keyboard via Speakers. I am not figuring . It appears that that feature that existed on Digi 001 where one could monitor sound via speakers and keyboard without actually turning on the Digi 001 does not exist on Digi 002 is this correct? or am i doing something wrong? I would very much like to listen to my Keyboard without my head phone but cant seem to get the Digi 002R hook up to work.

If you mean without Protools being open on your computer-go to stand alone mode and the 002 acts like an 8 channel mixer-no computer required.

I am sorry i forgot to add the The R my system is actually Digi002R So there is no button on there that says stand alone. Anyway i have figured out what the problem is though I have no solution. In terms of send receive from Keyboard to midi interface. The Output for the Midi Data indicators does not light up at all while using the Digi 002R as a stand alone. Meaning that Digi002R is receiving Data but it is not sending any, therefore, there is no sound getting to the powered monitors.
Any comments on this will be very much appreciated. Please let me know if it is an interface problem so that i can contact DigiDesign before my warranty runs out.
Thanks for your replies

I believe you are out of luck with the 002R version. What about a monitor/source switcher like Samson C-control or Presonus Central Station? Then you could switch your monitors to recieve input from the sequencer directly. I run my keyboard and drum module headphone jacks thru a little Behringer mixer so I can do the same thing.

Have you tried the "Monitor Alt Source" button on the 002R? I have not used this feature but it seems as though this would meet your needs. You can either monitor the alt source, say a keyboard or CD player, and then hit the button and it dumps it to inputs 7 & 8. I believe. I don't know if PTLE has to be fired up to make this feature work though. Hope this helps.
