shotgun mic recommendations?

I'm looking to buy myself a decent shotgun.. (insert lame hunting joke here)

Anyhow, I'm wondering what people recommend.
Keep in mind that inexpensive is good.
I'd like to know what is a great mic for the money.

FWIW the Sen MKH 416 is a good all around shotgun (mid range) good for in or outdoors.
eBay sales are usually around $700.

the Audio-Technica 4073 (AT4073a) is the Senn 416 equivalent, for about the same price range. Either one of these will do well as your main shotgun mic.
